The Guild

Tilkkuyhdistys Finn Quilt ry, the Finnish Guild, was founded by 64 quilting lovers in September 1990. Currently the Guild has about 1800 members, some living abroad. The Guild has about 80 local quilting groups in Finland and three groups in Spain for the Finnish quilters living there.

Finn Quilt publishes a quarterly magazine. AGM is held in March with exhibition, workshops and lectures. Every two years, Finn Quilt organizes a competition with varying themes and every two years we have a large exhibition open to all members. Local groups do a lot of charity work e.g. by donating small quilts to the Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

Nordic inter-action

Finn Quilt acts in close co-operation with other Nordic Countries and together we organize the Nordic Quilt Meeting, NQT, being held in every three years. Next one being in Göteborg, Sweden, in May 2009. See our links under 'Kansainvälisyys'.
